    Welcome

    Welcome Norwoodians!

Norwood is a school with a strong community.  Our goal is to help each student be all that they can be; to help them to develop the skills and knowledge so that they can fully participate in and appreciate the cultural, social, political, and economic and aspects of society.

To ensure success for all students, Norwood School provides excellence in instruction of all literacies and takes pride in fostering high levels of wellness in the school and community.

School success is based on the students’ ability to be ready for learning: to be ready to fully engage in the activities and experiences that our amazing teachers prepare each day. Thank you for your support at home to help students be ready for learning each day!

Welcome to the Norwood School Family!

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Norwood School! We are so very excited to have you be a part of our Norwoodian community and are looking forward to getting to know you and your children over the coming months.

For over a century, Norwood has proudly served the students and families of Edmonton’s City Centre. Our dedicated staff continues to uphold this tradition by working collaboratively with students, families and the community.

As a school staff we are committed to delivering engaging instruction, maximizing student achievement and ensuring all students are provided the necessary supports to attain success.

We provide our students with high quality opportunities to cultivate leadership skills, foster school spirit, understand our high standards for student conduct and contribute positively to both the school and greater community. We believe in building kind and caring relationships and supporting students as they acquire the skills necessary to become ethical and engaged citizens who are passionate about participating in and contributing to the world around them.

Norwood staff believe that student success is a shared responsibility between school, parents and the community. We are fortunate to have a number of community partners who support the artistic, academic, physical, social and emotional growth of our students.  We look forward to working with all of our partners to ensure our students reach their full potential.

At Norwood, we strive to create a “vibrant & flourishing school community which promotes a culture of empowered, expressive and joyful learners”. We anticipate a year full of positive relationships and rich learning experiences. The staff at Norwood are excited to work alongside your child as they continue to learn, grow, discover and explore; Together is Better!

Yours in Partnership,
